So this weekend when I was supposed to be writing my 5 page English essay I decided to instead DL and play Mass Effect (the first one). I beat it in 2 days and for the most part I really enjoyed the game. I KNOW you're going to say that I have to play Mass Effect 2, "mass effect 1 was practically a beta", etc, and I WILL.
PROS: The story line kicked ass, the graphics were great for a game 3 years old, and the missions were engaging and I found myself caring about what was happening. And some hot alien bitches.
CONS: Voice acting? Completely horrid. A little buggy, sometimes my weapons wouldn't cool down and I would have to save/reload. The combat system overall was a bit rough around the edges. The main storyline was quite short.
Overall, I loved the game, but it had some major flaws. Definitely going to start Mass Effect 2 tonight and I'll let you know how I like it once I stop playing (if ever).
In other OBVIOUS news, Halo Reach has been released, my friend waited in line for 6 hours yesterday to get his reserved copy and I'm going over to play it after my film history class. Will DEFINITELY keep you informed, but I'm sure most of you are playing it as I'm typing this, just completing an all-night Halo binge complete with dominos, a 20sack and redbulls galore.

ReplyDeleteDude Mass Effect isnt a game you speed run, i did that the first time and it wasnt as fun as when i actually went and did all the side missions. Thats the beauty of ME2. They added all of this other shit to make it aweseome...give it a try bro

ReplyDeleteI have to disagree, I loved the voice acting in Mass Effect and the story was excellent. If you found it too short I'm guessing you didn't explore enough.
